Symétrie has just released a book entitled Lettres de compositeurs à Camille Saint-Saëns (Letters from composers to Camille Saint-Saëns).

From simple notes by Berlioz, Bizet or Wagner to letters by Gounod, Liszt, Massenet, Verdi or Tchaikovsky, all major French or foreign composers of the 19th century are represented in this book, designing through their correspondence a portrait of Camille Saint-Saëns. More than 600 documents gathered by Saint-Saëns during an amazingly long career and previously unpublished for most of them are displayed in this book.
